If you hold both licenses, you must complete 6 total hours of Continuing Education (CE) before renewal:
5 hours of HVACR CE
1 hour of Plumbing CE (Backflow & Cross-Connection)
These courses can be completed online or in person and are available throughout the year to meet Delaware’s licensing timelines.
🗓 Timing Notes:
CE is required in even-numbered years, starting with October 31, 2026.
If you received your license after October 31, 2025, you do not need CE this cycle.
If you received your license after October 31, 2024 but before October 31, 2025, you must complete 3 hours of CE.

Plumbing only: 5 hours of Plumbing CE
HVACR only: 5 hours of HVACR CE
