You’ll need to alternate your Continuing Education (CE) each renewal cycle:
This HVACR renewal cycle: Take a 5H CE for your HVACR license.
Next renewal cycle: Take the 1H Plumbing Regulations.
Or vice versa — if you took the 5H Plumbing CE last cycle, take the 1H HVACR Regulations this cycle.
💡 Tip: Keep alternating 5H → 1H to stay current for both license types.
-
If you have an HVACR license, you need to complete the 5H NJ HVACR CE this cycle to renew your license.
-
New Jersey Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) licensees are required to complete 5 hours of continuing education before their license renewal. This requirement must be fulfilled before the renewal deadline (njconsumeraffairs.gov).
